NewSpace Hack v0.5

A lot of our fantasies about space living and exploration inspired by science fiction are about to come true. 2017 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet in NewSpace – the movement of enterprises and startups into space! With giants like Elon Musk and Google preparing their own space missions, other entrepreneurs are expected to be inspired to invest in space technology. In 1999, the United Nations declared the week of 4-10 October World Space Week, to spread awareness and get people excited about space exploration. Since then, it has grown into the world’s largest public space event, with the 2015 edition seeing more than 1,800 events across 73 countries!

This year, we were part of World Space Week Singapore, with the NewSpace Hack v0.5, where professionals and university students alike got the opportunity to interact with experienced space entrepreneurs (“astropreneurs”) from Singapore and Silicon Valley. The speakers shared their insights about the path to success and assessments of the future direction of “NewSpace.” They also shared snippets of their own successful journeys in the realm of space..
