UP Singapore and DEXTRA Communities

We bring together professional, talented individuals to tackle a wide range of urban challenges and make Singapore more liveable, sustainable and as a country and economy, more competitive.

The Urban Prototyping (UP) Singapore Community has over 8,000 passionate citizens: technologists, developers, designers, marketers, scientists, students, policymakers, etc.

In the past four years, the Community has been involved in over 30 hackathons and over 10 online challenges, involving more than 5,000 participants.

The DEXTRA Community is a 1,500-strong community of data enthusiasts: scientists, analysts, researchers, etc. who, through the DEXTRA platform, gain access to large amounts of interesting datasets and compete against each other to produce the best models that harness the value of data for our partner organisations’ businesses.

Connecting with other communities

In the spirit of Open Innovation, we also connect regularly with many other communities in areas such as data, technology, entrepreneurship, design, etc. and special interest meetup groups. Padang & Co and our sister companies are based in co-working spaces and are always building connections with their associated communities and networks.

We also connect and work with faculty, researchers, staff and students at universities, polytechnics and other Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), who have been strong supporters of UP Singapore since its inception.
